Water Tank Rebates
The
Brisbane
City Council Water Tank Rebate Scheme continues until
June 30th., 2009.
To be eligible to apply for a Council rainwater
tank rebate between 1 July 2008 and 30 June 2009 rainwater tank/s
and the internal plumbing connection (toilet and/or cold water washing
machine tap) must:
*
have the deposit paid between 1J uly 2008 and 30 June 2009
* be installed by 30 June 2009
The
rebate application must be lodged by 30 September 2009.
Rebate
amounts
Only one rainwater tank rebate applies to each residential
property, regardless of change of ownership. If your rainwater tank,
accessories and installation costs are less than the rebate amount,
you will only receive the amount you spent.
If you are eligible, the following rebates apply:
Residential
rainwater tank rebate
* $900 - rainwater tank/s volume equal to or more
than 3,000 litres up to 4,999 litres and is plumbed into the house
for internal use
* $1,150 - rainwater tank/s volume equal to or more than 5,000 litres
and is plumbed into the house for internal use
Pensioners
are eligible for an additional rebate of $100.
Internal
connection only rebate
* $400 - for residents who plumb their existing
rainwater tank/s into the home - Council requires connection to
at least one toilet or cold water washing machine tap by a licensed
plumber. The tank must be installed or purchased prior to 1 July
2009 and is equal to or greater than 3,000 litres. The receipt for
internal plumbing connection must be dated 1 July 2008 to 30 June
2009
Pensioners are eligible for an additional rebate
of $100.
Body
corporate/community title scheme rebate
* $1,000 - rainwater tank/s volume equal to or
more than 10,000 litres
There is no requirement for body corporate or community
title schemes to have an internal connection, as the tank is for
outdoor use in a common area.
What
Should You Do?
If
you want to benefit from having your own tank next summer, order
your tank as soon as possible. It must be installed by June 30,
