Maintenance

Monthly Check
Check the accumulated lint, hair and sludge in your H2grO filter screen each month. Clean if necessary. There is no need to remove the filter screen from the H2grO, simply direct a strong jet of water across its surface from a garden hose nozzle for 15 to 30 seconds. The sludge will be flushed directly into the sewer drain. This cleaning process should consume only 5 to 10 litres of water.

Always remember to wash your hands after cleaning your H2grO system.

Annual Maintenance
We recommend that you wear rubber gloves when removing the filter or pump from the unit.

Remove the filter screen from the H2grO housing and clean it well.

After isolating the H2grO unit from its power supply, disconnect and lift the pump from the pump well by its handle and thoroughly clean. Do not lift pump by its electrical cable.

Oil in the pump’s seal chamber should be periodically checked and replaced. This work should be done by a suitably qualified Davey Service Dealer after every 2,000 hours of operation or every 12 months, whichever occurs first.

Open the in-line valves at the ends of 25mm purple H2grO feeder pipes and thoroughly flush pipelines with clean fresh water.

Select two pods from each irrigation zone and inspect for blockages and root intrusion. If you find any blockages, raise and clean all pods.

Troubleshooting Guide
Pumpwell full to overflowing but pump isn’t operating.
• Check that power is connected and that the isolation switch is in the “on” position.
• Check that the sewer outlet is not blocked or flooded, as the level sensing pressure switch will prevent the pump from operating.
• Check that the R.C.D or circuit-breaker safety switch hasn't tripped.
• Remove pump from the unit and invert it to check the pump’s float switch function.
• Check that the greywater temperature has not exceeded the pump’s 50°C operating
maximum.

Pump operates but greywater doesn’t flow from pods.
• Check that the two-position diverter valve is in the correct position.
• If using a manifolded irrigation system, check that the zone in-line valve is open.
• Confirm the elevation of the irrigated area is not higher than the pump’s 7 metre lifting capacity.
• Check for leaks between the threaded connections between the pump and diverter valve.
• Check that the 6mm flexible tubes to pods are not blocked.
