Hot
Water Recirculator System by Grundfos
We
turn on the hot water tap, then we wait, and wait...By the time
the hot water arrives, we've wasted a lot of water. A LOT!
The
average family wastes, and pays for an estimated 20,000+ litres
of drinking-quality water a year, waiting for the hot water. That's
right, almost 10% of our water usuage is simply wasted, poured down
the drain while we wait for the water to run hot.
Not
only, that, but ALL that wasted water has been drawn from the hot
water tank as hot water. It is replaced in the tank by cold water
that has to be reheated. That's a lot of water to reheat.
Now
there's a solution- the revolutionary Grundfos
Hot Water Recirculator from Enviro-Friendly Products
is now available for your home. It will...
- reduce
the average home's water consumption by more than 20,000 litres.
Check how much money that saves YOU.
- reduce
sewerage outflow by the same amount. Check how much money that saves
YOU.
- provide
you with instant hot water, at the turn of a tap.
How
does our Grundos Hot Water Recirculator
work?
The
Grundfos Hot Water Recirculator is designed to work
with your existing or new storage hot water system (not instantaneous
heaters).
It
is normally fitted at the furthest point from the hot water system,
where the delay receiving hot water is greatest. (In new homes fitted
with low-flow AAA showerheads, the delay is even longer)
By
running a return line from this furthest point back to the cold
water inlet of your hot water tank, you create a closed loop that
doesn't waste any water.
The
Grundfos unit contains a small pump, a thermostat, and a timer.
What happens when it is fitted?
When
the tap at this furthest point is turned on, you wait as usual for
the hot water to arrive- most likely at 50C. You then set the thermostat
for, say, 35C. Whenever the temperature at that point drops from
50C down to 35C, the pump cuts in and draws more water from the
heater. Your hot water at that point never drops below 35C, and
all the water passing that point is returned to the hot water system.
Clever, eh?
Even
more clever, is using the timer. You can set the timer to turn off
the pump in the evening when you're finished using hot water, and
switch back on early in the morning, just in time to provide you
with instant hot water for your morning shower. You keep all the
benefits, but cut costs by around 25%.
There
are numerous products on the market that attack the problems of
lag times for hot water, and the waste of water. Compare them, and
you'll find that Grundfos does more than the others, at a surprisingly
affordable price. Simple, affordable, and very effective!
Every
new home should be fitted with a Grundfos
Hot Water Recirculator,
and most existing homes can be retro-fitted, too.
