Solahart's solar hot water
history goes back to 1953
Solahart’s
beginnings date back to 1901 in Perth, when two entrepreneurs formed
SW Hart and Co Plumbers and Ironworks to manufacture tanks, troughs
and sinks for the pioneering community. In 1953 the company developed
a method to harness the sun’s natural energy as a way to heat
water, long before human induced global warming was even heard of.
Thus Solahart was born and the company began manufacturing solar
water heaters to suit the West Australian climate.
By
the mid 60’s Solahart started developing models to suit all
Australian climates and was providing solar hot water to households
and businesses all around the country through our network of dealersIn
1978 the Solahart 300L/80GE was introduced, receiving wide international
recognition leading to the development of an international dealer
network to provide Solahart energy saving water heaters to the world.
Today Solahart has manufactured over a million solar hot water systems
installed in over 80 countries on every continent around the world,
and has over 100 Dealers around Australia.
Solahart Segment on Kerr-Anne: Solar Hot Water Options Explained
Solahart produces a wide range of models
Today, customers
can choose from 3 styles of Solahart solar hot water systems...
Thermosiphon.
This is the 'traditional' style solar hot water system. The sun's
heat is absorbed by the dark panels, and water or a transfer liquid
carries the heat upwards to the storage tank.
With
this system design, no pumps are required. The design is as simple
as it can be.
Split
system. Many customers do not prefer the aesthetics of
a large tank visible on their roof.
Many
roofs are not designed for, or are simply unable to take the weight
of a thermosiphon system, which can weigh upwards of 500kg.
The
split system puts compact. less-obtrusive panels on the roof, and
locates the storage tank on the ground.
Heat
Pump. There are many circumstances where an on-the-roof
solar hot water system is not ideal.
the roof
does not face north
shading
is a problem
the customer
would prefer nothing on the roof
heritage
regulations prevent placing a system on a roof
In
these circumstances, a heat pump solar hot water system is the answer.
It is usually placed on the ground, and can be located in any convenient
location- shade is not an issue.

Reduce your carbon footprint, and reduce
your energy bills
We
all know that energy consumption has a huge and serious effect on
the environment. The energy we use every day emits harmful greenhouse
gases which contribute to climate change.
Water
heating is one of the biggest contributors to household greenhouse
gas emissions, accounting for around 25% of the average homes carbon
footprint.
With
a Solahart solar hot water heater which uses the sun’s natural
energy you could save up to 50-90%* of your water heating energy
consumption, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2 - 3.6 tonnes
every year, which is the equivalent of taking a 4 cylinder car off
the road.
With
hot water free from the sun, you’ll reduce your impact on
climate change and make a positive step for future generations.
